We all those thoughts in the mind where we think what if something goes wrong in the last week. Let’s say, you are running for a marathon. For that, you were practicing for weeks and when the last week came, the internal fear is somehow stopping you from doing your best. This thought will kill the race and you won’t be able to perform well.
So, proper care must be taken especially in the last week of the marathon race. This is the final time and you will be practicing for the final race by now. There are some of the things that you should take into consideration in last week training or else it will spoil your entire race.
Don’t Try Anything New
When there is the last week of the training for the marathon left, many of the people will start to doubt their existing plan and think about the new one. This is because if there are some flaws in your plan, you will end up losing the race. Also, there might be some injuries that would be seen if there is something new to try. So, stick to the plan and the running schedule that you were doing from the start.
This applies to all the things including the diet and the time of sleep. You can surely increase your sleep a little bit but don’t decrease it. Your sleeping schedule might affect the race. Diet also plays a very important role in running and shouldn’t be compromised at any cost. There are only a few days left in which you will have to follow a diet schedule, don’t give up on it. In short, don’t try anything new.
Stay Calm And Relax
Lastly, when there are only a couple of days left for the marathon, you should make yourself calm and stay relax at any cost. don’t worry too much about the race especially, when you are participating in the marathon. Don’t think about it too much and trust the training and the exercise you have done so far. Meditation might help you a lot if you are feeling too much stress and worrying about the race. Remember, the more you think about it, the lesser your performance will be. So, stay calm and relax.
Just stay positive and prepare all the necessary things that you will need for the race. This includes clothing and shoes. If the race is big enough, also take a water bottle along with you. Take proper care of your diet before going to the race. Don’t eat too much on the day before and on the day of the race. You might feel sleepy and won’t be able to run much if you do any of these things. Therefore, know you are the best and get ready to win the race.
